WELCOME TO PORFYRIA'S WORLD
a universe of color, pattern and tradition, shaped by memory and born of imagination
PLOUMIA, the Greek word for ornaments and decorative motifs, is a collection inspired by the embroidered patterns found across the islands of Greece. Through four classic summer accessories, traditional motifs are reinterpreted in a contemporary way. Shades of ecru, blue and deep pink capture the colors of a Greek summer evening, when the sun sets over the sea and the sky slowly fades into dusk.
Porfyria is a pattern designer and textile artist based in Athens, Greece.
Her work draws inspiration from Mediterranean folk art and traditional craft, reinterpreting motifs from textiles, embroidery, and ceramics into contemporary visual compositions.
Moving between digital processes and handcrafted techniques, she develops patterns for textiles, garments, and objects.
Her practice also extends to contemporary embroidery and teaching, exploring the evolving language of craft today.
